PS 11 in 1976.

Kevin Mahon founded Woodside On The Move (WOTM) in 1976
to revitalize the Woodside commercial district and foster a thriving community. His passion for community affairs began early, organizing the Win-Wood Neighborhood Association and leading efforts to upgrade Roosevelt Avenue. After graduating from Manhattan College
in 1972 and serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, he committed to community improvement. Under his leadership, WOTM sparked revitalization through programs focused
on housing, education, cultural celebrations, and local commerce.

Today, our services have expanded to include all neighborhoods of Western Queens. We serve over 1,500 children through our free after-school and summer programs, and launched a new middle school initiative at IS 429 Q, ensuring continuity of support as students transition into adolescence. Our housing justice work supported
over 1,400 households with affordable housing assistance and tenant advocacy. We also revitalize local commercial areas, provide grants
to businesses, and host cultural events, bringing together over
3,000 people.
